Merthe Voorhoeve
co-editor-in-chief
Merthe Voorhoeve is co-editor-in-chief of Simulacrum alongside Vita. She studies art history at the University of Amsterdam and has a BA in Dutch Language and Culture. She is particularly interested in critical contemporary cultural analysis, exploring this through visual arts, cinema, and internet phenomena.
Vita Ostendorf
co-editor-in-chief
Vita Ostendorf is co-editor-in-chief alongside Merthe. She is an art historian and an MA student in Museum Studies at the Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory, and Material Culture (UvA). Besides this, she is interested in modern art and its canon formation, the transmission of collective memory, and how heritage is defined at the institutional level.
Stella Kummer
managing editor
Stella Kummer is managing editor at Simulacrum. She studied philosophy at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in ecology, aesthetics, time, and language. In addition, she writes about art and philosophy and is a web editor at Metropolis M.
Caitlyn van der Kaap
editor & distribution coordinator
Caitlyn van der Kaap is editor & distribution coordinator at Simulacrum. She studies art history and cultural analysis at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in visual arts, experimental film, performance, aesthetics, and exhibition history from the second half of the 20th century onward.
